Retreat weekend

Over the weekend 19 of our high school youth , partiapated in our annual High school reginal retreat. They played games togather , shared thier faith , and prayed togather . We had at least 4 high school youth out of the 87 that were thier that , were not catholic what a great example of our faith , they were showen by the rest. The whole weekend was filled with the Holy Sprit, the youth were moved to tears . What a great time was had by all. May God bless all who were thier , that they will contiune to grow in thier faith.

Middle School Rally

Middle School Rally was a blast , Bob Rice hit it out of the park. The pizza and inflatables were awesome, the music was loud and great . Everyone had a blast. Next year we go to Lansing Catholic Centeral , what a fun time. Next up for the Youth Group meeting on Sunday see you all thier , then next weekend High School winter retreat for grades 9-12 . Young adlut will have thier own retreat the same weekend at St. Mary's what a busy time coming up. Thanks to everyone see you all on Sunday . Dinner still not sure maybe a pasta or what seems to be the new favorite chicken strips

Hey everyone , thanks to all of you the raffle tickets have gone out, to everyone in the parish great job . I would like tothank Mike you came and shared scripture with us at the meeting with us while we worked on the raffle.. Bust night for all of us. We meet this weekend at the normal time and place. Middle school guys and gals I need your permissin slips for middle school rally this week. High school need yours as well for the winter retreat at the end of the month , so lets get them in . Last but not least dont forget Friday night we are hosting the fish fry so we all need to be thier to pitch in ., see you thier .

souper bowl of caring weekend

Hi every one , this weekend is the souper bowl of caring weekend. We will be collecting money at all of the masses this weekend to give to the St. Vincent food pantry. Are meeting this year will be following the 1030 mass , both high school and jr high. We will have food and fun , and end around 1:30 pm hope to see all of you thier. Great meeting last night everyone, it was great to get togather with everyone again to follow up on NCYC , See I told you it was not over yet , that it was still here and apart of us . Picture disks are coming . Also are meeting meeting is on the 20 th cookie bake after 10:30 mass , pizza for lunch so don't be late . At home after NCYC

We have been home almost a week as I write this to all of you. I have seen the texts and the postings on my space and facebook , I have heard everyone say I miss NCYC I wish we were still there, I wish it that it didnot end . But if you look around we still have NCYC here with us , we formed a coumminty together and brought it home with us . We are still connected to those who were there with us from other parts of the country every time we go and recieve Echuarist we are all at the the same table togather with the Lord.
I remenber being on the bus with you all as we left for NCYC , I can remenber hearing why I did I come this bus ride is so long , I am not going to talk about God or my faith. I remenber those of us who had been before just saying wait and pray you will see , it's somthing I cannot explain but you will feel differnt just pray.I know in a way we were all strangers on this journey , but we became a family a community of believers bound togather by this journey forever.We shared tears of joy , and found the Holy Spirit alive in all of us .
We meet again next Sunday at are normal times , We look forward to seeing you all there . Check the site later this week for meeting update and what the meal will be .

What a day , What a day , the young church cried and the and the adluts cried. We saw the face of God in these past few days in so many ways , to many to say . We saw youth show up , step up and setp out and let Christ Reign in thier hearts and souls. They will be forever changed . Check the feed on mycathloicvoice.com. Sorry this post is in the am , but cannot get inernet in room to work at all. We arrived almost on time due to traffic long bus ride , but all are here and so far having a great time . The main theme for last night with them was look at all of the peapole that are here. As much as you try to tell them ahead they must see for themselves just what it is like . The youth should be posting later tonight full day a head it will be after 11:00 pm when we do post again . Peace

GIVING TREES AND NCYC

   Good morning Youth Group. Yesterday we decorated the advent giving trees for the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry here at the parish. Right now they are in the baptismal area of the church, when we retrun home from NCYC we will put the trees in place. This is one of three times that we as a group will help out the food pantrey, the other are the Soupper Bowl of Caring on Supper Bowl weekend and the Lenten giving trees. These events are how our youth can help make a differnce in the community. Thank-you to all who helped yesterday.
   In just a couple of days now 25 of us will leave on a life changing journey to NCYC . Pray for our safe travel and that all who are on the journey encounter the Risen Christ as never before.We will be leaving on Thursday at 3:00 am and retruning on Sunday at 9:30 pm . We will be posting daily updates on the blog and if I can get it to work a picture or two from thier. So everyone keep checking the blog, but remenber updates will be put on at 11:00 pm .
   Our next regular meeting will be on Sunday December 6th at normal times . The cookie bake will be on the 20 th.

Jamboree

Dear youth I love this minister that I serve in. Thank God and thank you . What a great day , just got off the bus from high school Jamboree at tha Lansing Center.We encountered Christ today in so many ways. We saw our youth come out of thier comfort zones today and be the face of Christ to everyone who was thier today. I am so proud of you all , thanks for a great day . Mass with the Bishop was great .Next Sunday the Kof C breakfast is for the youth group, so make sure you are thier to help in any way you can and to eat with your family. Middle school guys and gals dont forget next week at 430-630 is just for you see you then.

Hi everyone, this last weekend was our reginoal confirmation with Bishop Boyea, thier were 167 confrimed at Lumen Christi congrats to you all. Youth Group will meet this weekend at our normal times, with our middle school and high school leaders the same as last time. Our meal this week will be a surprise, and is being prepaired by the Iocca family. So come one come all . If you are in High school dont forget if you are going to High School Jamboore I need your permisson slips by Sunday.

For all who are going to NCYC in November we now have the bus pick-up time .Sorry to have to break the news to you , our pick-up time from Queens will be 3:00 am which means you need to be to Queens by 2:30 am on November 19th . This pick- up time should place us at the hotel by 2:00 pm on Thursday the 19th for the start of the confernce. For those of you who have a facebook account thier is a virtual pligramge for ncyc . I want to say the twitter has one as well. I will be sending out more information in a news letter home .

Next Meeting is October 25th

Our next meeeting date will be Sunday October 25th instead of Sunday October 18th due to Confirmation at Lumen Christi High for so many of our menbers. The group leaders for that weekend will be Jack Williams, Xander Paschell, Hunter and Gaberial Thelan Middle school. High Scholl leaders will be Ian Mcvey,and Mary Worland. During the middle school time we will be going over ideas for the one day retreat in December .High school we will be going over High School Jam and NCYC , for the rest of the we will be doing what your leaders have planned fro the eveing. Dinner is still up in the air as of this time , so if you have any requests let me know .Untill then may God bless you and keep you safe.

High School leaders are Mary Worland and Ian McVey. Dinner is Spaggthie,and pizza rolls. Gym for basketball if it is raining outside .

On Sunday August 16th menbers of both High school and Middle School meet and planed our calender of events for the year that lies ahead . Our next meeting will be on Sunday September 20th with Middle School meeting at 4:30-6:30 youth leaders for this eveing are Emily Hawkins and Anna Maria Siciliano. High School youth leaders are Cammie Polack, Cecelia & Julia Berkmeier. Dinner for this eveing will be Hot dogs and chips.Keep watching for updates more to come.

Attention to all who are going to NCYC in Novemeber : Your T-shirt size is need by Spet 20 2009.
All depoists are need by October 1st ($150.00)please remenber . We will also be attending a NCYC Region 6 gathering on Thursday November 19th before opening of NCYC , I need to know by 9/30/2009 your choice of sandwich for this event ,they are as Turkey and Cheese, Tuna Salad or a Veggie. This is an event we will be going to that eveing. before the opening of the confernce. Also anyone who is going to NCYC needs to go to high school jamboree on Sunday November 1st cost os $45.00 by October 8th 2009. Keep watching for updates on Youth Group and NCYC .

Lock in

On Saturday August 1st . The Youth Group held it's first lock-in at the parish . A wonderful time was had by all who were their that evening . Father and Deacon Pieter were a big hit with the youth of our parish . They saw that Father has a great shot in basketball and can play a mean game of lighting watch out.

In speaking with the youth later on about the events of the night and what they thought . you could here them describe Father as great , awesome and that they had a great time.They also liked having Pieter their as well , this was for many of them the first time that they had a chance to get to know them both. Great job to both of you.
